Network Computing Architects signs with BSI to begin ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification processes

(Reston, VA) - Network Computing Architects, Inc.(NCA), of Bellevue, WA, announced it has chosen BSI Management Systems as its Information Security Management System (ISMS) registrar for ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification.

This internationally recognized standard establishes the compliance requirements for information management systems. It was originally developed by British Standards and was later adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Companies can gain certification to ISO/IEC 27001:2005 by implementing an ISMS; which continuously identifies information security risks and applies appropriate risk-management controls. The effectiveness of this system is constantly monitored through continual analysis. Because the ISMS is certified through an independent third-party, there is strong assurance that NCA is compliant with the ISMS standard.

To achieve ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification; BSI will perform on-site assessments and examine NCA’s documented procedures. To determine continued compliance, BSI will also periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of NCA's security operations. NCA projects the completion of the registration process by the end of 2007.
